Kadambini's National Leave Writer's Seminar, Patrika Haata and Poetry Recital
The 10th edition of the National Level Writers Seminar of 'The Kadambini', a Kumbha Mela for writers, editors, publishers, intellectuals and decision makers, was inaugurated by famous Bollywood actor Padma Bhushan Dharmendra on 6th January 2013 at the Convention Centre of KIIT University.
Intellectuals from all over the country poured in to exchange their ideas. Distinguished guests, who graced the occasion, include Cine Star Padma Bhushan Dharmendra, Padma Shree Dr. Surjit Paatar, Chineese Writer Lijia Zhang, Padma Shree Dr. Prativa Ray, Sanskrit Scholar Prof. Harekrushna Satpathy and Writer-Administrator Dr. Mrutyunjay Sarangi. Eminent author Prof. Shantanu Acharya Chaired the meeting. Kadambini's founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta and its editor Dr. Iti Samanta were also present. Prestigious 'Kadambini Saraswata Sammana-2013' was conferred upon renowned Odia poet Padama Bhusan Sj. Ramakanta Ratha and Smt. Sailarani Mishra was felicitated with 'Kadambini Sampadak Sambardhana-2013'. Special January 2013 issue of 'The Kadambini' and January 2013 issue of 'The Kunikatha' were inaugurated on the occasion.
Jnanapitha Award winner Padma Shree Dr. Prativa Ray, Central Sahitya Akademi award winner Dr. Gourahari Das, Prashant Kumar Mohanty and Srustishree Naik were also felicitated.
The special attraction of the function was 'Kadambini Patrika Hatta'. It is a unique concept of having almost all the magazines, both regular and irregular, runninh and obsolete, under one roof. About 300 magazines of the state and outside participated the haata.
In theafternoon session, a poetry recital programme was held. 25 invited poets of thestate participated in the recital programme. Odisha Sathiya Academy awardeesfor the year 2009 & 2010 were felicitated in this function by Padma BhushanRamakant Rath, Prof. Shantanu Acharya, Prof. Mohapatra Nilamani Sahu and Dr.Bibhuti Patnaik. More than 2500 people attended the function.
